Transfer Should Be a Distinct Type, Not an Expense Category

Owdyn currently classifies Transfer as an expense category. However, Transfer should be a distinct transaction type, separate from both Income and Expense, rather than a category nested within the expense type.
Introduce Transfer as its own standalone transaction type, alongside Income and Expense, so it can be consistently excluded from expense totals, category budgets, and forecast calculations across the app. This should also let users create new custom categories marked as Transfer type, in the same way they can currently create custom Income or Expense categories.

Hey Sujo Philipose,
Thanks for your feedback. Transfer is currently treated as a distinct transaction type, separate from both Income and Expense.
Can you share some more details on your expectation so I can look into it.
Having said that, the second half of your Feedback "This should also let users create new custom categories marked as Transfer type, in the same way they can currently create custom Income or Expense categories." - I think Yes, ability to create a custom category as a 'Transfer' type, can be helpful. I'll put this in the plan. Hoping to provide this feature soon.
Regards,
Arjun

Arjun Kataria In Settings > Categories > Default Categories, "Transfer" is listed under the Expenses group.

Sujo Philipose - You're right, thanks for the screenshot.
Transfers do already work as their own type in the app - Owdyn creates the matching pair and keeps them out of spending, budgets and the forecast. But they're not a separate type underneath. A transfer is still stored as a linked pair with a default "Transfers" category attached, and that category is tagged as an expense, which is why it's showing in the Expenses group. So the label is wrong even though the behaviour is right.
I'll get the Settings listing fixed so it's not sitting under Expenses.
Thanks for raising this.
Regards,
Arjun
